Career Expo: Plan for Tomorrow Today

Career Expo: Plan for Tomorrow Today
Posted on 11/22/2019

On November 20th, WHS students, grades 9-12, visited a Career Expo to learn about varying careers and opportunities post graduation. One of the values at WHS is to prepare students to be college, career, or military ready; the Career Expo was the epitome of preparing the future workforce.

54 companies and over 400 students were involved this first Career Expo at WHS. Each student was a "passport" with three careers of their choosing to visit at the expo. Each exhibit had props or activities for students to experience, while learning about career opportunities. From Energy, to STEM, to Health and Human Services, to Trades and Industry, to the Military, there was a company to interest every student!

Students also heard an inspirational message from Pat Bertagnolli, VP of Human Resources at MBI Energy Services. Bertagnolli spoke about working hard, being accountable, and treating others the right way. He encouraged students to look for all of the opportunities that North Dakota has to offer.

Thank you to all of the companies who took the time to speak with students. Special shoutout to Haley Jeannotte, Career Development Coordinator, and our staff for making the expo a success!
