Erik Olson is from Elk River, Minnesota. He went to school for his Associate in Arts Degree from Anoka-Ramsey Community College. He then earned his Bachelors of Science in Community Psychology and his Masters of Science in School Counseling from St. Cloud State University. He chose to be a counselor because his junior high school counselor worked with him a lot and was a positive influence in his life. He thought the best way to thank her would be to pay it forward and work with students.
Besides working with students on social/emotional issues, career and college guidance, and academic achievement, he also works on the ACT, SAT, MAP testing and classroom guidance.
"What I enjoy most is seeing a student grow, either academically or emotionally. Watching a student achieve something they thought was unreachable; seeing the confidence, that's my favorite."
Fun Fact: "I had the privilege to travel to South Africa during college and while there I pet a cheetah."
