The WHS Howl
The WHS Howl is Williston High School's official student newspaper. Written entirely by WHS Journalism students and overseen by Journalism teachers Laura Bearce and Vikki Osborn, The WHS Howl's website has:
- articles on national, state, or local events and their impact on Williston
- Coyote Spotlights focusing on teachers and staff members you may wish to get to know
- featured works of fiction, creative non-fiction, and poetry from students
- photo galleries with pictures from all big high school events
- and more!
The co-advisors for the journalism program are Vikki Osborn and Laura Bearce.
Vikki Osborn is in her fifth year at WHS. With her degree English Education and a Master's in Education with a focus on Teaching and Technology, she looks to assist Journalism students with 21st century social media tools. She enjoys strengthening the real-life skills students will learn, such as interviews, news research, videos, and creative writing.
Laura Bearce has been working at WHS for six years. She teaches Intro to Journalism and Mass Media. She especially joys the opportunity to work with students on their writing, photography, website development, and social media marketing skills. She holds degrees in Economics, International relations, and a Master's in Curriculum and Education.
